Working around the school day
Most school cleaning runs after the last pupils leave or early in the morning before staff arrive. We agree access, keys, alarm codes, signing-in procedures and site rules before the first visit, and your site manager has a named contact rather than a call centre.
Safeguarding and DBS
Operatives attending settings that require vetting are DBS checked and complete safeguarding induction. We confirm the level of check your school requires in writing before the contract starts, and we will not put anyone on site who has not cleared it. Our Managing Director holds Oliver McGowan Mandatory Training on Learning Disability and Autism, and safeguarding is a named responsibility in the business rather than a line in a policy nobody reads.
Hygiene and cross-contamination
We use colour-coded cloths, mops and equipment to separate washrooms, kitchens, classrooms and communal areas. Frequently touched surfaces such as door handles, handrails, light switches, taps and shared equipment are listed in the specification with their own frequency rather than left to judgement, which matters in a building where illness spreads quickly.
Holiday deep cleaning
Half-terms and the summer break are when the heavier work fits: hard floor stripping and resealing, carpet cleaning by hot water extraction, washroom descaling, high-level dusting and detailed kitchen and dining cleaning. These are quoted separately from the term-time schedule so you can plan the budget across the year.
Records and accountability
Contracts can use Clean Manager for logged attendance and completed task records, so you have evidence of what was done and when. We carry out our own audits, and if something is missed, tell us within 48 hours and we will return and put it right.
Our experience, stated honestly
We do not currently hold a school cleaning contract, and we are not going to pretend otherwise. What we do have is directly comparable: cleaning in care and supported living settings, where DBS checks, safeguarding induction, colour-coded equipment, infection control and written records are already how we work every day. We also clean offices, training rooms and commercial premises across Peterborough and the surrounding area. If you would rather appoint a contractor with a long list of school names, we understand. If you want an insured, employed team with the right checks and a written specification, we would welcome the chance to quote.

School cleaning questions
Are your cleaners DBS checked?

Can you clean during school holidays?
Yes. Holiday periods are when most schools book deep cleaning: classrooms, dining areas, washrooms, hard floor stripping and sealing, and carpet cleaning, all scheduled so the site is ready for the new term.

Yes. Most school cleaning runs after the end of the school day or early in the morning, and we agree access, keys, alarms and site rules before the first visit.
Have you cleaned schools before?
We have not held a school contract to date. Our directly comparable experience is in care homes and supported living, where DBS checks, safeguarding induction, colour-coded equipment and infection control are already part of how we work. We would rather tell you that plainly than claim experience we do not have.
